An editor in the Seattle area, I offer professional copyediting and proofreading services to writers, publishers, businesses, and other organizations. My background is in film and video, so I’ve spent many hours in editing suites. In my opinion, a flawless edit is one that passes by almost completely unnoticed by the viewer. As a viewer or reader, I hate to be pulled out of a story and reminded of the existence of the writer, filmmaker, or editor by a bad edit or grammatical error—I always want to stay lost in a great story! As an editor, what is most important to me is that the editing I do ensures writing that is clear, correct, concise, consistent, and compelling, so that the reader never loses that feeling of being lost inside your story or message.
